Reiki
Ancient chinese therapy for more balance within.
Reiki is a form of alternative therapy that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. The word "Reiki" is derived from two Japanese words: "rei," which means universal, and "ki," which means life energy or vital force.
Reiki is often used as a complementary therapy. In some countries, Reiki is offered as a relaxation method with effects related to pain relief, stress reduction, and relaxation in hospitals. Traumas and pains, as well as blockages, can be gently processed or resolved through this type of energy healing, supporting the process.
Some people report feeling more relaxed and balanced after Reiki sessions, while others may not experience significant effects right away.
-
It's important to note that while many people report experiencing a profound sense of inner peace and relaxation through Reiki, individual experiences may vary.
-
Reiki is thought to help release trapped or suppressed emotions stored in the body. By channelling energy and promoting relaxation, Reiki may facilitate the release of negative emotions, allowing individuals to experience emotional catharsis and a sense of relief.
-
Reiki induces a deep state of relaxation, calming the nervous system and reducing stress. Chronic stress can deplete energy levels, so by reducing stress, Reiki helps conserve and restore vital energy.
-
Reiki emphasizes the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. Through Reiki, individuals can become more attuned to the sensations and energy flows within their bodies, fostering a deeper understanding of their physical and emotional experiences.

Meet Rahel, a certified Reiki & Yin Yoga practitioner who made her own healing journey through the therapy of Reiki & Yin.
After working in corporate Switzerland most of her life, she began to explore the roots of her trauma & depression. After being diagnosed with HSP, the pressure and the fast paced life no longer served her wellbeing.
In 2019, Rahel made the life-changing decision to leave Switzerland behind in search of a deeper truth in healing. She embraced a slower, more mindful lifestyle centred around photography and yoga in Sri Lanka. During challenging moments, Reiki and Yin yoga became her saving grace, providing solace and strength.
“In Yoga, Reiki, and Meditation, I find the art of conscious living. Each practice is a canvas for self-discovery, a journey to authenticity. My purpose goes beyond teaching; it's about creating a space where you are truly seen and heard.”

During a Reiki session, you will typically lie down fully clothed in a peaceful environment. I will lightly place my hands on or near specific areas of your body, focusing on channelling energy.
You may feel sensations such as warmth, tingling, or deep relaxation. Each session is unique to the individual, but most people experience a profound sense of peace and relaxation.
It's common to leave a session feeling refreshed, balanced and rejuvenated.
-
The number of Reiki sessions needed varies from person to person. Some individuals experience noticeable benefits after just one session, while others may require multiple sessions to address specific concerns or chronic issues fully. It's essential to listen to your body and intuition.
Many people choose to incorporate Reiki into their regular self-care routine, scheduling sessions periodically to maintain overall balance and well-being.
-
Reiki is believed to promote overall well-being and relaxation, which can support the body's natural healing processes. While some people find relief from specific health conditions and emotional issues through Reiki, it's important to consult with healthcare professionals for serious or chronic concerns.
Reiki can complement medical treatments and therapy, but it should not replace professional medical advice.

Yin Yoga is distinct from other yoga styles due to its focus on holding passive poses for an extended period (typically 3-5 minutes or more). Unlike more active forms of yoga, Yin Yoga targets the deep connective tissues, enhancing flexibility and joint mobility. The practice also stimulates the body's meridians, promoting the flow of vital energy (Qi).
Yin Yoga is renowned for its ability to improve flexibility, release tension, and promote relaxation. It also enhances mindfulness, fosters a sense of inner peace, and can be a valuable complement to more dynamic yoga practices.
Practicing Yin Yoga regularly can result in improved circulation, reduced stress, and a greater sense of overall well-being.
-
Yin Yoga is suitable for everyone & of all levels, including beginners. Poses can be modified to accommodate different body types and flexibility levels.
It's important to listen to your body and work within your limits. Over time, consistent practice will enhance flexibility and comfort in the poses.
-
While Yin Yoga does improve physical flexibility, its benefits extend far beyond the physical body. The prolonged holds and meditative nature of the practice encourage mental relaxation, reduce stress, and promote mindfulness.
Yin Yoga also provides an opportunity for emotional release and self-reflection, supporting overall mental and emotional well-being.
-
Yes, Yin Yoga can be beneficial for individuals dealing with chronic pain or injuries. The gentle, sustained stretches in Yin Yoga can improve joint mobility and reduce stiffness, providing relief for conditions like arthritis and back pain.
However, it's essential to consult a healthcare professional before starting any new exercise, especially if you have existing health concerns or injuries.
-
The frequency of Yin Yoga practice depends on individual goals and schedules. Practicing 2-3 times a week can lead to noticeable improvements in flexibility, relaxation, and overall well-being.
Consistency is key; regular practice, combined with mindfulness, yields the best results. It's essential to balance Yin Yoga with other forms of exercise for a holistic approach to fitness and well-being.
